best tips to improve your examination memory

One of the worst experiences that a student can suffer is to remain blank in the exam, but there are a few tricks that will help us overcome these situations.

Goodbye memory

One of the most frustrating situations in life is to stay blank at the most important moments and unfortunately most of such individuals have continued to face this problem and failed to overcome due to lack of taking preventive measures and doing something that can truly improve their memory related issues.

Why is this happening to me?

The fundamental cause of this dreaded sudden loss of memory is stress and, apparently, is related to the production of a hormone called corticosterone that we release at times of higher stress levels. The good news is that knowing the causes we can also reach out the solution.

Because some people are more prone to stress than others, it is logical that some have a greater predisposition to stay blank, but that does not mean it cannot happen to anyone at any given time. In fact, staying blank is considered normal and not a clinical pathology; On the other hand, the fact that we have a natural tendency to stress does not mean that we are doomed without remedy to academic failures, but that we must develop an additional set of extra skills and abilities to combat that tendency.

Preparation

If the test we are going to face gives us increased challenge compared to normal situations in terms of being blank, then it is best approach to start preparing for it in a more organized, structured manner followed by effective time management. The best way to avoid such situation is to be sure you’re your knowledge and learnt study material. And to be really safe, the best thing is that you can combine your study and preparation with another class fellow student.

Previous exercise

Another very useful trick is to combine that last set of academic exercised with the newer ones in such a way that brings you a feel of structured consistency and relevancy to what you are leaving behind while progressing onto the advanced and newer topics. We’ve said it a lot of times: combining exercise and study is the best way for the exam to go round. Keep in mind that when you play sports your brain secretes endorphins, which make you feel good, which protect and repair your neurons, making you think more clearly and reflects the true potential of keeping things in consistency and goal oriented.

Meditation

According to most of the experts, relaxation and meditation techniques are also considered highly important very useful to avoid loss of memory. With a ten minutes of practice a day you will be able to perform well while staying relaxed, but the most important thing is that we can do it in the exam as well if we notice a situation which will result us in getting nervous. In addition, any meditation technique that works includes breathing techniques that will help us oxygenate our brain.

Conditioned reflexes

Despite being one of the most useful techniques, it is something that we will have to work on for a while so that it begins to serve us. It’s about doing with ourselves what Pavlov did to his poor dog; that is, create a false reflection by association.

Aristotle said that when two things usually occur together, the appearance of one will bring the other to mind and that is precisely what we must do: get two things together so that one reminds us of the other. If every time we do meditation or we finish doing sports or we just feel happy and relaxed, we make a small gesture (like putting the fingertips of the index and thumb fingers together, touching our hair, crossing our fingers or any other simple thing), time, both sensations will be associated in our head and, therefore, we can control our stress and feel good just by doing that gesture.
