Why Take Up JEE Exam

JEE is the most competitive and challenging examination for admission to undergraduate programs like B.Tech, BE, B.Arch at prestigious IITs, NITs, CFTIs and various other institutions backed by State Governments. JEE exams are conducted twice a year and happen in two phases.

Phase 1 – JEE mains

Phase 2 – JEE advanced

JEE mains exam is categorized into :

  • Paper I (for undergraduate B.E/B.Tech courses)
  • Paper II (for undergraduate B.Arch)

Candidates who clear JEE mains are only eligible to take up JEE advanced examination. JEE advanced exam is the ultimate gateway to enter IIT, and JEE mains is the checkpoint to pass through. The level of competence is very high for both the exams and hence it is a tough way to cross. Lakhs of students across the country and abroad take up the exam and only a few thousands qualify it.

You need to master the skill to know the pattern in which the paper appears. Know the entire JEE Main and Advanced Syllabus to have a clear idea of what to study and what to exclude.

It is also essential to acquire complete knowledge of class 10th, 11th, and 12th standard science and math topics and concepts to have a clear footing on the basics. JEE is the toughest competitive exam to enter the graduation course in IIT. One can imagine the expected level of the standard needed to crack JEE. Hence make sure you are proficient in all the topics of physics, chemistry, and mathematics to relish the best score. Only 2,45,000 candidates from lakhs of candidates who take up JEE Mains Paper-1 will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2019 exam.

The JEE main fees structure is different for SC/ST/PWD/Girls and General/OBC. The fee structure is shown below in the table for your clear understanding. Also note that its is being planned to implement Supernumerary seats especially for female candidates to increase their presence by 17%.

 While applying keep various other documents handy and have the documents in the prescribed format by the board.

While filling up the application form, candidates can choose five different exam centres across India as per their convenience and preference.
